Social Strategist

Reporting to the Head of Social, this individual will have the opportunity to power Ogilvy’s social offering across strategy and creative execution by leveraging data.

Through a strong understanding of social platforms, the Social Strategist takes an active role in all aspects of a social project-identifying brand's issues, running the competitive benchmark, analyzing insights and audiences, forming the recommendation, building the architecture of channels, and defining the drivers of performance. The ideal candidate has both Content and Media/Context skills, very strong analytical capabilities, and is used to social media tools. He/she will advocate for the right set of actions on social platforms in order to design creative presentations with strategic outputs that generate business results.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive social media strategies in line with clients’ objectives
  • Support new business efforts with creative strategic presentations bringing data richness to what consumers are ‘saying’, ‘sharing’ and ‘searching’, considering proprietary benchmarks (social-first content, optimal formats, CPM/CTR/CPA in category, etc.)
  • Create new, commercially viable products (Social Intelligence, YouTube Playbook, Social Employee Advocacy, etc.)
  • Generate thought leadership reports with original POV underling Ogilvy’s positioning
  • Inspire the creative teams to produce best-in-class social-first assets
  • Leverage recent developments in social platforms capabilities to provide organizations with the opportunity to connect with their social communities like never before

Requirements:

  • 3 years experience in social marketing, with proven examples of strategies developed for well-known brands in the social media space that produced positive business results
  • Strategically strong. Understands the client's business and is able to connect business challenges to ground-breaking, specific social strategy methodologies
  • Experience in Social Strategic Planning, Competition Benchmark, Social Listening, and social data capturing tools. Comfortable analysing and deriving insights from both public and client-owned data to deliver efficient and actionable insights that weave into the strategy process
  • Audience analysis experience to build / expand / retrofit personas
  • Social platforms experience; he/she knows what metrics are available, how to report on them, how to get the data, and how to put reports together. Both paid and organic given how different the data platforms can be
  • Expert understanding of social media and established understanding of the wider digital communications landscape. Passionate about quickly evolving social media environment and strong knowledge of digital marketing, innovation technologies, platform features, emerging media and the Internet as a whole
  • Exceptional Keynote Presentation and Excel spreadsheet skills - Data visualization will be considered as a plus
  • Superior communication, organised and autonomous, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Fluent level of English
