#GameOnAthens: adidas & Asset Ogilvy Public Relations with a UGC contest from Βελιγράδι to the… USA!

Asset Ogilvy Public Relations designed and implemented, on behalf of adidas Hellas, the most interactive basketball contest #GameOnAthens, exploiting the brand's partnership with the Euroleague and this year's Final Four and carrying out the company's mission statement “Through sport, we have the power to change lives”.

The key drivers of the activation were adidas basketball assets Georgios Printezis (Olympiacos BC) & Ntinos Mitoglou (Panathinaikos Superfoods BC) and the CTA had a very "challenging" nature: Through a series of trickshots, the two National team players called out the creators to copy their moves & post it with a video on instagram, using #GameOnAthens. On www.gameonathens.gr, the leaderboard was updated daily with the participants' content, highlighting the top 5 entries with the biggest social impact. The grand prizes: Tickets to the Eurloleague F4 in Belgrade and exclusive basketball outfits!

The #GameOnAthens shoutout "crossed" the Atlantic and reached NBA All Star & Dunk Champion, Donovan Mitchell, who landed in Greece after the conclusion of the F4 & crashed an open court in the Area of Argyroupolis, challenging Greek basketballers in a life-changing experience for the creators but also for the player.
