Asset OgilvyEntertainment win Spanish Liga rights as sales process gains momentum

The media rights to the Spanish Liga have been awarded to broadcasters in a series of countries around the world, with Asset OgilvyEntertainment retaining the rights for Greece and Cyprus and is set to announce deals with broadcasters within the next few weeks.

In the 2012-15 cycle, the agency is understood to have paid close to €9 million in total for the rights, selling them on to OTE TV, the IPTV pay-TV service operated by the Greek telecoms company of the same name and to Primetel in Cyprus.

A source said that despite the disastrous financial crisis in the country, a signficant increase was paid for the rights.
